Take-Two: New IPs in development.
When Take-Two released its financial report yesterday, the company’s CEO, Mr. Strauss Zelnick, had said that they have an extensive pipeline of new titles in development for the next generation systems.
With Microsoft and Sony are gearing up to launch their next-gen machines, several publishers have started to work on new games for the next-gen consoles. Watch_Dogs, a brand new IP being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, will be released for next gen consoles. Now, Take-Two, publisher of GTA series, has announced that they are working on brand new titles for next-gen consoles.
In the announcement, Mr. Zelnick, had said
“We also have a extraordinary pipeline of titles in development for next-generation platforms, including groundbreaking new intellectual property and releases from our proven franchises.”
Take-Two said that developing games for next generation consoles would be costly and time-sucking and the publishing giant also promises to do “innovative” marketing for their next-gen games as well as for GTA 5.
Mr. Zelnick later added,
“Looking ahead, we have an extensive pipeline of next-generation and emerging platform titles in development, including both new intellectual property and releases from our proven franchises. As a result, our current outlook is to be profitable on a non-GAAP basis in fiscal 2015 and for the foreseeable future.”
From this announcement, we assume that Rockstar Games’ long awaited project Agent would finally see the light. Agent was first announced as a PS3 exclusive, so we hope Rockstar would release the game for PS4.
Take-Two expects the coming fiscal year to be a profitable year as they have games such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and other 2K games yet to release. GTA V is scheduled to launch on September 17, 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360. You can pre-order the game on amazon.
