Fancy Watch_Dogs Multiplayer details!
The multiplayer feature in Watch_Dogs is not going to be something that you’ve experienced before in other open world games like GTA 4. It’s going to be revolutionary!
Even though Watch_Dogs is a new IP, it is going to be much more impressive that its spiritual predecessor that is the games from the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
The folks at Ubisoft have revealed some juicy info regarding the multiplayer aspect of their most anticipated title of this year, Watch_Dogs.
Even if you are just free-roaming, not doing any missions or side missions, you just have to be careful because you can be hacked by others. Yes, that’s how it rolls!
And identifying the culprit won’t be an easy job as they walk, talk, behave just like an NPC. That means, you are playing as Aiden Pearce only on your screen, other players just see you as a normal pedestrian.
The same goes to the players who want to hack; the target will just look like an NPC. And when someone is trying to hack you, you’ll get an alert on-screen saying, “You are being hacked”.
To identify the hacker, you have to use your phone’s in-built app named Profiler but that only works if he is in a short-range otherwise you have to use the ctOS camera and try to search for a suspicious-looking NPC.
But that’s not everything, you can also help other players. When talking about helping others, Dominic Guay said, “Help can come in the form of hacking into a police chopper that is following Aiden, or even redirecting police cars. It’s a friendly way to help each other. You can do it at a distance or you can do it with someone in the same room.”
The multiplayer aspect will be turned off automatically, if you are engaged in a mission. And yeah, you can turn it off yourself, if you wish.
E3 2013 Gameplay Demo
There is another mode Ubisoft has been working on but they are not ready to speak about it yet. Guay explained, “We want to show it before we talk about it.”
