New Xbox One Controller buttons!
Microsoft has detailed the workings of the two new buttons of Xbox One. Microsoft replaced the “Start” and “Back” button of Xbox 360 with these two new buttons.
Microsoft unveiled their next-gen console, Xbox One at their May 21st event where they also gave us a glance of their slightly redesigned controller.
The controller features two new buttons that replace the “Start” and “Back” buttons. A Microsoft’s representative told IGN that the two new button would be named “Menu” and “View”.
The Menu button will bring up context-specific menus which game and app developers can design to enhance the user experience. It could be used in scenarios such as bringing up in-game menus, showing video playback options, and accessing commands on the console’s UI.
The function of the View button will be driven by developers. Possible uses of the View button include viewing a map during a role playing game, displaying a leaderboard in a first person shooter, and enhancing the navigation of the console’s user interface.
